Deacon Ministry

The office of Deacon as set forth in scripture is one of compassion, concern for needs, and of serving others. The vision of the Board of Deacons is taken from Acts 4:34 “There were no needy persons among them.”

The Deacon Board, comprised of 27 members (9 are elected each year to serve three-year terms) and 2 youth deacons (serving one-year terms), offers a ministry of care to share the love of Jesus Christ.  They also act as servant leaders, involving the congregation as they reach inward to love and care for members and reach outward to serve the needs of others.

Each Sunday you will find Deacons greeting at our worship services and serving the Continental Breakfast. The Deacons are also responsible for overseeing the Baby Basket, College, Communion, Flower, Health Care and Meal Ministries along with seasonal outreach programs like Lent-a-Hand, Let’s Talk Turkey, and the Christmas Giving Tree.

Many of our Deacons are also paired with a senior adult whom they visit on a regular basis.

Our current roster of Deacons are our listed with Our Elected Leaders.
